Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP)

WWTPs are responsible for taking care of our waste water (home sewage). Many WWTP move millions of gallons of wastewater from our toilets, sinks, baths, showers and kitchens through their systems on a daily basis. They treat the water by removing solids and bacteria then send it downstream where it will be reintroduced into the environment. WWTP have highly skilled technicians using chemicals and equipment in ways that would amaze the general public. Safety is of the utmost concern and odor control requires handling dangerous chemicals in large quantities, unless of course, they use Sulfree™ WS (Water Soluble). High budget runs are incurred by the WWTP that utilize the higher cost dangerous chemicals. Sulfree™ with its lower cost will solve this problem as well.

Sulfree™ WS can be injected at any point in the WWTP process. Employees that have received special materials handling training will be relieved by the simplicity and safety when they use Sulfree™ along with the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Managers. Sulfree™ WS does not require special Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) handling procedures.

Here’s a great example of how Sulfree™ WS was used at one of our WWTP clients:

At the Reno, Nevada wastewater treatment plant, Sulfree™ was put to the test. During a flow rate of 1,750,000 gallons of water per hour, Sulfree™ was added at a rate of 7.5 gallons per hour. This removed 5 ppm of Hydrogen Sulfide.

In order to achieve 100% removal of Hydrogen Sulfide, a total of 180 gallons of Sulfree™ would need to be added to the daily flow of 42,000,000 gallons of water or 4.3 gallons of Sulfree™ per 1,000,000 gallons of wastewater. Remember, these 4.3 gallons of Sulfree™ is removing 5 ppm Hydrogen Sulfide. This means it takes less than one gallon (slightly more than 7 lbs.) of Sulfree™ for removal of 1 ppm Hydrogen Sulfide for 1,000,000 of wastewater.
